SPCA International Baghdad Pups program transports a dog named Charlie, of Charlie Company, for a soldier in Iraq who befriended the 9-month-old Border Collie mix.

Terri Crisp, right, of SPCA International hugs Charlie. She flew to Baghdad to accompany the dog to the U.S. where he will live with a friend of his owner until he returns to the States.

Charlie, who flew 13 hours from Kuwait, eventually will live in Phoenix with one of his soldier caretakers.
